Potato Rosemary Bread

On Monday, Leo did not have any school because of Fair Day. Yes, they let school out here for the State Fair. *rolleyes*

So, our project for the morning was to make real homemade bread. I had never made a real loaf of bread before. The recipe called for Dill, but I had Rosemary...so, Presto Change-O! We were making Potato Rosemary!

First of all, I now know why people buy bread at the store. This was an all-morning project while we waited for it to do all its doins - yeast getting ready, stuff cooling, stuff rising, stuff rising again, yada, yada, yada.

Here are the highlights:

The mashed potatoes, onions, cream cheese, and salt after all the cooling. I used a hand masher for the potatoes - next time, I think I'll use beaters.

Leo helps me knead. One thing I have learned about kneading - I am too short for my counters! I need a stool to give me the height I need to really get into it.

After it rose once, we rolled it out, then rolled it up (lol), and then let it rise again!

Brushing a little egg on the top. That tattoo was one of the rewards for getting a flu shot over a week ago, btw.

The finished product. One for now and one to freeze. It is delicious! Worth the work!
