It starts with boiling the red lentils. Red lentils are so easy because they cook really fast.

Next I sauteed the onions, garlic, tomatoes, and spices (cumin, paprika, salt, turmeric).

Then I added the cooked red lentils. It's interesting that they turn yellow when cooked.

I was one of the lucky brunchers and this was soooo good! I was just about to ask for the recipe. Thanks for sharing!
By the way, do you have to use cumin seeds or can you just cheat and use ground cumin? I hate messing with grinding seeds, even though I know the flavor is supposed to be better.
